AP Limited Editions Urushi Lacquer Art Fountain Pen – The Magical Urushi Red
This finish leans into depth rather than brightness.
The Magical Urushi Red is built on a deep red urushi base, with a tone that shifts slightly between crimson and darker wine hues depending on the light. That base is layered with embedded inclusions—gold fragments along with green, blue, and darker elements—distributed across the surface in an irregular, non-repeating pattern.
There’s no consistent spacing.
Some areas remain relatively open, allowing the red lacquer to read as a smooth, uninterrupted field, while others carry denser groupings of inclusions. The shapes vary from fine flecks to more defined fragments, creating contrast without forming a structured design.
The Clip
Fitted with a standard AP gold-toned clip.
It remains simple and consistent.
The smooth profile and rounded end provide a neutral visual element, allowing the lacquer surface to remain the focal point without additional distraction.
